Dangwa is the cheapest place in Metro Manila to buy flowers by the stem or bundle, so it is the better choice if you can go yourself, arrange the flowers and hand them over in person. Online flower delivery costs more, but it saves the trip and the traffic, and it is the better choice when you are sending flowers to someone else, need them today, or are ordering from abroad. Here is an honest side-by-side so you can pick what fits your day.
What is the Dangwa flower market?
Dangwa is Manila’s best-known flower market, in Sampaloc, around the corner of Dimasalang Street and Dos Castillas Street and spilling onto nearby streets toward Lacson Avenue. It took its name from the old Dangwa bus terminal, whose buses brought fresh flowers down from Benguet. Most of the flowers still come from the Cordilleras, with some from Tagaytay, Laguna and Mindanao, plus imported roses and tulips.
Many stalls are open late or around the clock, and the market is the supplier for a lot of the city’s florists and event stylists. Our family has been in the Philippine flower business for 30 years, and Dangwa has always been part of that world. We love it, and we still recommend it to people who enjoy picking their own blooms.
Why are flowers in Dangwa so cheap?
Dangwa works like a wholesale market. Vendors sell by the bundle at close to farm prices, with little spent on store rent, design or delivery. Outside peak season, a bundle of local roses has sold for about ₱180 to ₱200 and tulips for around ₱90 to ₱100 per stem, based on February 2026 news reports. You do the arranging, wrapping and delivering yourself, so you keep those savings.
Dangwa vs online flower delivery: how do they compare?

When is Dangwa the better choice?
- You live or work near Sampaloc, España or Quezon Avenue and can drop by.
- You enjoy choosing flowers in person and arranging them yourself.
- You need a lot of flowers for an event, a church or a home project.
- You are giving the flowers in person, the same day.
- Your budget is very tight and you are happy to trade time for savings.
When is online flower delivery the better choice?
- You are sending flowers to someone else. A birthday at the office, an anniversary across the city, a friend in the hospital.
- You need them today. With same-day delivery, order by 4 PM and we deliver anywhere in Metro Manila.
- You are abroad. OFWs and families overseas can send gifts to the Philippines without asking anyone at home to go to Manila.
- You want to see it first. We send a photo of the actual gift before it leaves, then confirm once it is delivered.
- You want more than flowers. Add chocolates, a bear or a balloon in one delivery, or pick a ready gift bundle.
- Your time is worth more than the difference. A trip to Dangwa can take half a day in traffic.
How much more does online flower delivery cost?
In our experience, an arranged and delivered bouquet costs about two to three times what the loose stems cost at Dangwa. That difference pays for the florist’s design, wrapping, a message card, the rider and the trip. At flowers&gifts, our bouquets currently start at ₱2,199, our affordable collection is all under ₱2,500, and delivery is ₱150 in Metro Manila or ₱250 to our Cavite, Laguna and Rizal cities. For a fuller breakdown, see our bouquet price guide.
Tips if you are going to Dangwa
- Go early or late. Weekday mornings and late evenings are calmer than weekend afternoons.
- Avoid peak days if you can. The days before Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Undas are the most crowded and the most expensive.
- Walk around before buying. Compare a few stalls, since prices and freshness differ.
- Check freshness. Look for firm petals, green leaves and closed buds that are just starting to open.
- Bring cash and a bag or box. Many vendors prefer cash, and you will need a way to carry flowers without crushing them.
- Plan the ride home. Heat and a hot car shorten flower life. Put them in water as soon as you can and follow our flower care guide.
So which one should you choose?
If you are close by, have time and will give the flowers yourself, Dangwa is hard to beat on price. If you are sending flowers to someone, working, far away or short on time, an online flower shop in Manila is the easier and often smarter choice. Many of our customers do both: Dangwa for home and events, online for gifts.
