Our flowers leave the shop fresh, and a few minutes of care at home keeps them beautiful for days. This is the quick version you can keep handy. For the why behind each step, read our full guide to making flowers last longer.
When your flowers arrive
- Unwrap the bouquet and remove any leaves that would sit below the water line.
- Fill a clean vase two-thirds full with room-temperature water.
- Cut 2 to 3 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors, so the stems can drink.
- Add the flower food sachet if one came with your gift.
- Place the vase away from direct sun, aircon vents and ripening fruit.
No vase at home? You can add one from the add-ons on any product page.
Every day or two
- Change the water and rinse the vase.
- Trim the stems again by about 1 cm.
- Remove wilted blooms so the rest stay fresh longer.
Care by flower
| Flower | Quick tip | Vase life (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Roses | Pull off bruised outer guard petals; recut a drooping stem under water. | 5 to 7 days |
| Sunflowers | Heavy heads drink a lot. Top up the water daily. | 6 to 10 days |
| Tulips | They keep growing toward light. Turn the vase every day. | 4 to 7 days |
| Lilies | Gently remove the orange pollen as they open to avoid stains. | 7 to 14 days |
| Hydrangeas | If a head droops, submerge it in cool water for 30 minutes. | 4 to 7 days |
| Gerberas | Keep the water shallow, about 5 cm, so the soft stems do not rot. | 5 to 10 days |

Teddy bears, cakes, balloons, chocolates and wine
- Cakes: keep refrigerated and serve within the day.
- Balloons: helium balloons float best indoors, away from heat, and last 1 to 3 days.
- Chocolates: keep them in a cool, shaded spot or the fridge. Philippine heat melts them fast.
- Wine: store it lying down away from the sun, and chill before serving.
- Teddy bears: spot-clean with a damp cloth.

Flower care FAQ
How long do fresh flowers last?
Most bouquets last five to ten days with fresh water and trimmed stems. Lilies and carnations can last up to two weeks; tulips and hydrangeas are shorter.
Should I keep flowers in an aircon room?
Yes, a cool room helps, but keep the vase away from the vent itself. The cold, dry air dries out petals.
What if my flowers arrive wilted?
Trim the stems and put them in cool water for a few hours. If they do not recover, send us a photo within 24 hours of delivery and we will make it right.
